Bulk Order Deed Guide
When a player sells items to an (npc)tailor or blacksmith frequently, the npc will make a bulk order request to be completed. The player need only have minimal skill in tailoring/blacksmithing to receive a bulk order. Once completed and returned to the npc, the player receives gold above normal payment, rewards and fame. Although tailoring is used in the examples and for explanation throughout this guide, the same principles apply to both tailoring and blacksmithing. Any differences will be noted.Obtaining a Bulk Order Deed
To be offered a tailoring bod, a player need only sell goods to an npc tailor. Since the offer is based on frequent 'visits' to the npc, the recommended method is to sell one item at a time until the vendor offers a bulk order. To accept the order, click the OK tab at the bottom of the gump. To deny, choose cancel.
If you opt to cancel, the vendor will not make a new offer until your bod timer has expired.
Tip: Buying sewing kits/tongs from the npc and then selling them back is any easy way to gather bods. They will have gold to buy the items back from your purchasing and it costs relatively little.
If a player accepts the bulk order request, it will appear in their backpack as a blessed, dark green deed (or light grey for blacksmithing). Bulk orders can be collected every three hours at GM skill. Lower skill levels take less time between bod collection.
Choosing Bulk Order Info from the npc gump will tell you when you can collect another bod. The type of bod that is offered will be limited to skill level. A skill level of at least 70.0 is needed to be offered large bulk orders. Beyond this, skill level does not affect the bod type you're offered - you dont have a better chance of getting a top level bod at 85 compared to 80 and having over 100 skill points will not increase you chance of a high level bod).
The Bulk Order Deed
Bulk order deeds come in small and large form, with large bods being made up of smaller ones. The reward for a completed bod depends on the bod difficulty; large bods yield, on average, better rewards than small bods. There are some differances between filling a large bod and a small bod; large bods will be explained further below.
Double clicking the bod will bring up the order gump, similiar to this one:
The order shows the item to be made in name and picture, the quantity to be made, the quantity already added and any special requirements. The above bod shows an order for 10 plain dresses, exceptionally-made, 0 completed.
To fill the bod, create the listed item with your tailor. To add the items to the bod, click the 'Combine this deed with the item requested' tab. You will then get a target for the items. The gump keeps track as you add items at 'Amount finished' (shown as 0 on the above example). The deed and items must both be in your backpack to combine. Once the bod is full you will no longer get a target.
To turn in a completed bod, drop the completed bod on a tailor. It does not need to be the same tailor that offered the bulk order. The reward appears in your backpack.
Large Bulk Orders
Large bods are very similar to small ones except small bods are combined to the deed rather than items.
As you can see, the large bod looks very much like the small one.
To fill a large bod, a player must have small bods with the details as listed. The above large leather armor bod shows a request for small bods with a quantity of 20. To fill the above bod a player would need a small bod for 20 leather gorgets, a small bod for 20 leather caps, and so on. Once the small bod is filled, it can be added to the large one with the combine tab. The large bod will not take the items listed on their own. They must be loaded into a small bod and then the small bod can be added to the large. In other words, to fill the above bod a player would need the listed small bods first. Obviously this makes them much more work than small bods, with a better reward.
Both large and small bulk order deeds ask for quantities of 10, 15 or 20. The requests may be for normal or exceptional quality. Exceptional items can be used for deeds requesting normal items although the reverse is not true. For bods of leather there are variations in normal, spined, horned and barbed leather. Deeds for bone armor are also available.
The Bulk Order Deed Book
The Bulk Order Book is an invaluable organizational tool for bod collection and storage.
The book is blessed, weighs one stone, counts as one item and holds up to 500 bods. A filter within the book allows a player to sort through their bods by type. Bulk Order Deed Books are craftable with the inscription skill.
Once a bod has been added to your bod book, dbl click the book to bring up the book gump.
The book is organized in columns. To remove a deed from the book, click the arrow in the first column beside the deed. The bod will appear in your backpack. The second column shows small or large bod. The third to sixth columns give details on the actual items - the type, quality, material and amount. The last two columns are for setting price on the bod. This is for use with player vendors.
Along the bottom are tabs to see the next page in the book, to exit the book, and to price all bods in the book. Along the top is a tab to access the book filter. Blue words show if a filter is currently set.
Click the filter tab and the gump changes to the following:
The filter can be set to show all bods(default). It can also be set to limit what is shown by small or large bods, quality, cloth, leather(all types), quantity or any combination of these options. Notice there are also options for blacksmithy, this being the only other skill with bulk orders. You may keep both types of bods in the same book.
To use the filter, select which bod requirements you want to view and choose 'APPLY" from the bottom of the gump. If the settings are to apply to all bod books you view, choose "Set Your Filter' from the bottom of the gump before setting your requirements. Clicking 'Clear Filter' will clear any limitations you have set and restore the book to default settings.
