House Trading
An easier method, although sometimes costlier way of acquiring a house is to buy one from another player. Housing prices for placed houses vary greatly according to house size, location, and the fluctuating current market (surplus or shortage of houses being sold). Use the selling section and price check sections of the forum to find current comparable prices for what you are looking for. Players often advertise houses for sale at West Britain Bank and on the forums in the trade section . There is also a buying section in the trade forum to advertise.
The following will explain trading for both buyer and seller.
Both the buyer and seller should be within two tiles of the house sign.
The seller initiates the trade by accessing the house sign.
For custom housing the option is 'Trade House' under the ownership tab.
For classic, 'Transfer ownership of the house' under the option tab.
For the Seller: The trade begins with a targeting cursor and a message 'Target the person to whom you wish to give this house.' Target the buyer. Another message, 'Please wait while the other player verifies the transfer.'If the buyer agrees to continue with the trade, a trade window will appear with an Glacial Blue Deed on the seller's side of the trade window.
Once the buyer has placed the check or items to be traded, both parties click the blue diamonds beside their name on the trade window.
For the Buyer: The trade begins with a warning gump:
This gump explains the basics of trading, to continue click okay.
A trade window opens with an Glacial Blue house deed on the seller's side of the window. Place the objects/check to be traded in the buyer side of the window and both parties click the blue diamond next to their name. Upon completion of the transaction the buyer receives a server message confirming the transfer.

Keep the following in mind when trading a house:
Watch out for scams!
When the trade is initiated, both the buyer and the seller must stand within 2 tiles of the house sign. This way you can be sure that you're buying the house you are standing next to, not some other house on the same screen.
Do not panic if the buyer claims to already have your house. Check the house sign and do not accept any further transfer windows until you do.
House transfer deeds always show as Glacial Blue in the trade window on the seller's side.
Do not accept payment in bags which can hide other objects.
And as with every deal, use common sense. If a deal seems to good to be true, it usually is.
