The Library
Tessa's Cove is one of Hybrid's oldest landmarks.
I found the spot with an empty idoc house on it in 2004. Hours later it fell and I placed the plot that has become the Library. Originally the plot had little more than a mark to each city and dungeon entrance. Over time, it has grown to be the largest rune library on Hybrid, with over 150 filled runebooks.
The objective now is to provide the players of Hybrid with a mark to anywhere they could want to go. Hunting locations, training, points of interest such as duel pits and casinos, tmap locations, mining veins and more can all be found here. Marks are updated with shard changes when necessary and new marks are added as a need for a new location becomes apparent.
Players are welcome to use the library as often as they like. Use the marks as often as you like, or simply to get to a location to mark your own. Marking the library for your own copy at home, or to sell is also okay. Those who plan on marking the entire library contents should be aware this is really not necessary. The library contains some marks which would be rarely used by the average player. For example, the books to locate training npcs would not be needed in most libraries.
Important information for players new to my Library!
Attacking or killing me (Countessa) at my shops can result in a ban from them. All other pvp and pking is allowed. I will not interfere and often I will leave the area if activity is high. I will not protect you from death, and it is unlikely I will resurrect you. I try to run the library as a shard service rather than a personal location. This means every man (or gank crew) for themself.
This is a high activity area. In the event you are killed, there is a blue healer two screens directly right of the mall. There is a healer for hire that will resurrect anyone for a fee about two screens directly down from the library. For safer resurrection outside the area, Minoc can be found be heading directly south and crossing the bridge to the mining area.
The library books are divided into sections and colored for organization. In general, red books are pvp intensive areas, blue books are guarded marks, and all other rune books are unguarded areas.
The front row consists of (from left to right):
Dungeons in deep green books. All markable dungeons are included. Each dungeon is marked on each level at entrance and exit points. Some specific marks for popular spawns are also included in the books.
Misc. Hunting and Specific Spawns in green books provide marks for popular hunting spawns, npcs to rescue from orcs and rats, orcs, savages, swamps, the Hedge Maze, Titans and Cyclops, Meers, Jukas, Balron, Daemons, Succubus and more. Dragonoid marks include mixed dragons spawns, usually of the untamable variety like Serpentines, Shadow Wyrms, etc.
Undead Hunting in light grey, also in the front row. Marks include all graveyards, liches, liche lords, ancient liches, ruins and crypts.
Quickies on the far right contain quick-find runes for each town and dungeon entrance. These books are placed along the right edge and can be used to gate in from the tile outside the library.
In the second row you'll find:
Town Books in light blue. These books have marks for all banks and most shops. Books are indicated to be Faction or Non Faction on the cover.
Shop and Trade runebooks in dark blue. Again, these are town marks but organized into books for specific shops, marking all available on the shard. Categories include Tailoring, Smithy, Mage Shops, Carpentry, Tinkering, Taverns, Inns, Healers, Bowyers, Butchers, Provisioners, and more.
Books of Travel sit on the far right of this row in dark grey. These include runebooks for Moongates, Passages, Shrines, Teleporters, Islands, Crossroads and more. Included in this pile is a book of Rooftop marks. Like the town books, it's possible to gate in to the library using these books from the right outside tile beside the library.
In the third row you will find:
Mining Caves in dark grey provide a mark for every mining cave on the shard. These books include beaches and other sandy locations for digging up sand.
Skill Training marks to npc guildmaster and trainers in yellow books. One or more for each skill in the game. Above them are marks to Noblemen in light red. Noblemen will pay gold for the service of escorting them to a different location.
Popular and Unusual Marks are the last stack of this group in orange. Included in this stack are points of interest, guardposts, poker tables and the Papua Cellars.
Taming and Farm related books in tan are the last stack of this row. These include marks for training pets and gathering resources like leather, cotton, wool and feathers. Marks with farming or livestock in the name indicate a mix of hide-bearing creatures and cotton or sheep.
Marks for all mount types including nightmares are found in this section, as well as dragons, drakes, wyverns and wyrms.
The fourth row has mining veins, faction and unguarded town marks.
The runebooks for mining veins consist of at least one book of Brittania locations and one of t2a locations for each type of ore. The blue books here are the exception to blue=guarded mark rule. These blue books are for valorite veins, all are unguarded and some could have spawn.
Red Towns are on the far right. One book each for Buccaneer's Den Bank and Ocllo Bank. Another book for other Bucc's Den shops, and a fourth for Ocllo shops.
Factions can be found at the bottom of this pile in sliver. This book include all faction bases and sigils.
The final row is along the back wall
Treasure Hunting books are in green. Two sets are provided for your convenience. The bottom set contains all treasure map marks accessible by recall/gate on Hybrid. These marks are named according to the familiar Treasure Hunting Atlas on Stratics.
The second set contains identical marks, however these are named by location coordinates as seen on the maps.
Both sets can be used in conjunction with the tmap archive on this site or any of stratics-related tmap archives.
Pvp Runes are the final stack on the far right. These books include PvP hotspots, dueling arenas, and out-of-guards town marks.
Other library projects in the works include a complete set of books for the mining caves with vein types indicated and matching maps, treasure maps linked to corresponding runebooks, and spawn- specific dungeon books.
