House Ownership, Security and Commands

Players are limited to one house per account. There is no limit to the number of houses you can be friended or co-owned at. All characters on an account are recognized by the house as owner, the same is not true of co-ownership or friendship.

Anyone can hide in a house regardless of skill level. House owners, coowners and friends are able to reveal anyone hidden within the house with detect hidden, regardless of skill level.

Players can be banned from a house by the owner, coowners and friends of the house. A banned player cannot reenter the house unless the ban is lifted.

Logging out in a house is instant if you are in your own house, are a friend of the house or coowned.

Security

There are no security options for doors or telepads. If a player can enter your home, they can use your telepads. Doors can be locked with a key, but not secured. Each house comes with two keys when you build - one in your backpack and one in your bank. These keys are newbied. Additional keys may be made by a tinker however the crafted keys will not be newbied.

Containers - the number of locked down or secured containers and items allowed is limited by the house size/style. The house menu(on the house sign) gives the information for each house.
To lockdown a container means that the entire container is locked down. All items placed within the container will be locked down as well.
To secure a container means the container is locked down but the items within are not. The chest items are protected by the security setting. Security settings allow you to limit chest access to owner, coowner, friends or anyone. Anyone who can open the chest can take items out, or put items in.

Lockdowns consist of anything locked down in your house. This includes the contents of a locked down container. Containers which have been secured count as one lockdown. The items inside a secured container count towards the maximum storage but do not count as a locked down item. Vendors, barkeeps, doors and teleporters also counts as a secured item. Items carried by a player vendor count towards maximum total storage.

If you are at your secure storage maximum, you will not be able to place items in a chest. If you are at your maximum lockdown you will not be able to place items in a locked down chest or lock them to the structure.

Having a house set to private does not prevent others from entering your house. Players added to your house menu cannot place vendors, however. Making your house public will allow anyone friended or coowned to the house to place a vendor.

The following locked down items can be used by anyone with access to them. They do not need to be friended or coowned:
Marked runes can be recalled from. Runes can also be marked when locked down if they are placed close enough to the house edge.
Runebooks can be used according to their security setting. Note: if your house is public, set your books to the security level of 'friend'. If you set the books to 'anyone', the books can be emptied.
Anyone can add a recall scroll to a runebook by dropping a scroll on the book. Anyone can use charges in the book.
Books can be read. If the book has not been sealed with a red leaf, visitors can add to or change what is written.
Musical Instruments can be played.
Locked down cups, mugs and glasses can be used.
Locked down dye tubs and dyes can be used by anyone (for veteran reward tubs age limits still apply).

Candelabras and Lanterns can be used by friends, coowners and owners.
Plants(growing) can be accessed according to their security setting.

Housing commands

Owner Commands

I wish to secure this - used to secure a container. The chest has limited access according to the security level set - owner, coowner, friends, or anyone. In a classic house the owner must release and resecure a container to change the security level. Custom housing provides a gump on the container for security levels.

I wish to place a trash barrel - places a trash barrel on the tile you stand on. To move the trash barrel, stand on a new tile and repeat the command. To remove a trash barrel, use a hatchet/ax on the barrel.

Deeded house addons (loom, forge, etc) can only be added or removed by the owner. To redeed these items, use an axe/hatchet on them. The deed appears in the owners pack.

Coowner, owner commands

I wish to release this - to release locked down and secured items. Secured items must be released by the owner.

I wish to lock this down - locks down the container or item. Items in locked containers become locked down as well.

I wish to place a strongbox - Used by the coowner to provide a secured container for them. This container is not accessible by the owner. To remove the container the coowner must be removed from the housing list.

Friends, coowners, owners commands

Remove thyself - gives a target for ejecting a player/creature. Those ejected can reenter the house.

I ban thee - Ejects the player/creature and sets a permanent ban for their reentry. Banned players stay banned until the ban is lifted by an owner or coowner.

House Decay

If your house is not maintained, it will decay. Decay is set up in stages. Let it go too long and your house will collapse, dropping everything in it to the ground and allowing another to place a new plot.
All items must be removed before another plot/house can be placed (you cannot place over items).

The stages and their time length are as follows:
Like New: 33min. 32 sec (0.02329 days)
Slightly Worn: 83 hours 51 min 36 sec (3.49417)
Somewhat Worn: 83 hours 51 min 36 sec (3.49417)
Fairly Worn: 83 hours 51 min 36 sec (3.49417)
Greatly Worn: 67 hours 5 min 12 sec (2.79534 days)
In Danger of collapsing: 16 hours 46 min 19 sec (.69883 days)
Total time from New to Drop - 14 days

A house is refreshed (maintained) everytime the owner, coowner or friend accesses the house menu or opens a door. Besides refreshing the house, the account owning the house must stay active or the house will disappear with the account (90 day inactive account purge).
