This section is a work in progress and is in no way even close to finished.
More will be added as I find a minute here and there.
Rares are items that cannot be obtained through normal gameplay. For the purpose of this guide however, rares will include semi-rares found ingame, veteran rewards, bod rewards, donation items and handout items (those given by staff).
Because this guide includes screenshots of each item, it is broken up over a number of pages (as seen by the above links).
Bod Rewards - These items are obtained by completing a Bulk Order Deed. The different rewards correspond to specific orders, although some orders can produce one of a multiple of rewards. See the guide to BODs for more information and reward tables for tailoring and blacksmithy tables
Veteran Rewards - Veteran Rewards are those given for account age. Some rewards require a minimum age to use/wear. Others, like the black dye tub or veteran statues used as house deco, can be used by anyone although your account still needs to be the required minimum age to acquire them from your own reward gump.
Donation Rares - These are items obtainable as gifts for donating. Donations are needed to cover the cost of running Hybrid. Some of these items are no longer available as a donation gift and hence, have become a 'true' rare.
Semi-rares - Semi rares are those which can be found in game. They generally require some specific skill or knowledge to acquire them. The limited number entering the game through gameplay determines them as a semi rare.
Handout Rares - Handouts are given for any number of reasons, or for no reason at all. They are often obtained for holidays we celebrate in rl, although this should not be expected and should never be paged for. Some handouts are obtained as event prizes. Most handouts are given on a 1 per ip basis. Others are given to anyone online. Still others may be given to players in one specific location, or to only one specific player as a thank you for assisting staff or reporting a bug. Handouts given for the last reason are very rare.
